The story of the human giraffe got a huge response:

Body painter Emma Fay turned loose-limbed contortionist Beth Sykes into a work of art in this photograph by painting the head of the giraffe on one of Beth’s feet, and hooves on the other foot and one hand. She then “whited out” other parts of Beth’s body to complete the stunning effect.

“We just thought it would be cool to paint me as a giraffe, it was a spur-of-the-moment thing,” said 20-year-old Beth.

The process took six hours of painting and a lot of patience.

The 5ft 5in performer currently works with Britain’s Got Talent performers Area 51, and this summer will be hitting the festival circuit, starting at Glastonbury in June.

“I gathered images of giraffes and of Beth so we had images to work from. The reaction has been lovely. Body art is done a lot, but the fact she is a contortionist makes it more interesting,” said Fay.
